Illinois DocAssist Consultant
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Illinois DocAssist, Dana Lohr utilizes her social work experience to provide consultation to healthcare providers around psycho-social concerns that arise within child, adolescent and perinatal patients. Dana will also provide assistance in identifying local referral resources and navigating complex service systems to assist healthcare providers in developing a complete plan of care for children and their families. Additionally, Dana develops outreach to healthcare providers and provide educational opportunities on Illinois DocAssist.
Dana obtained her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Eastern Illinois University and her Masters in Social Work from Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dana has spent her career working with children and families involved in the child welfare system. Her work has included both direct service in case management as well as administrative work with the DCFS Office of the Inspector General that included examining issues within the Illinois child welfare system and strengthening services for children with complex trauma histories. Most recently she conducted psycho-social assessments of children placed in foster care after substantiated occurrences of abuse and neglect and formulated recommendations for trauma-informed treatment planning.
