Course Description:
In this course, Illinois DocAssist psychiatric consultants, Ashley Mulvihill, MD and Rhapsody Mason LCSW, discuss the prevalence of perinatal depression. Skills in identifying and treating these disorders in the primary care and obstetric setting are presented.
This course is presented by Illinois DocAssist for Innovations to ImPROve Maternal OuTcomEs-Illinois (I PROMOTE-IL) through the State Maternal Health Innovation Program.
Course Objectives:
1.Understand the prevalence and presentation of perinatal depression
2.Know the obstetric provider’s role in recognition, patient engagement, referral, and treatment of perinatal depression
3.Understand important issues regarding pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic perinatal treatment
4.Learn how Illinois DocAssist can help
