Course Description:
In this course, Illinois DocAssist psychiatric consultants, Diane Misch, MD discusses identifying and treating perinatal substance misuse.
This course is presented by Illinois DocAssist for Innovations to ImPROve Maternal OuTcomEs-Illinois (I PROMOTE-IL) through the State Maternal Health Innovation Program.
Course Objectives:
1.Learn why screening for substance use is part of comprehensive obstetric care
2.Become familiar with validated prescreening and screening tools available for your office
3.Increase capacity to care for and manage perinatal patients with substance use
4.Review state-mandated reporting of perinatal substance use
